Jakarta (21/11). Islamic banking system is in need of 22 thousands personnel, as explained by Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Siti Chalimah Fadjriah. Bank Indonesia will provide 50% of training cost incentive for employees of Islamic bank, through the Bank Indonesia's Directorate of shariah. |

Jakarta (20/11). The impact on global financial crisis is that commercial Banks such as Bank syariah Mandiri (BSM) increased its financing margin, the financing margin ranges around 15% to 17% at the beginning of November 2008, compare to the time before the crisis which was about 11% to 13%, the increment is about 30%. As explained by the division head of commercial financing of BSM, Gunawan Arif Hartono. |

Jakarta (18/11). Bank Negara Indonesia- Shariah division (BNI Syariah) in the third quarter of 2008 has an increment of its profit for IDR 34 Billions or about 167% compare to 2007, which was only IDR 12.7 billions. |

Jakarta, 17/11. Islamic financial institutions (IFI's) in Indonesia are not ready with the concept of net profit sharing ratio of their shariah products based on the profit sharing principle. At the moment, the profit sharing ratio of IFI's in Indonesia is still using the concept of revenue sharing, or gross profit income, as explained by Hanawijaya, the Director of Bank Syariah Mandiri, at the luncheon of Annual meeting of the Nantional Shariah Board, last Saturday, November 15, at Taman Impian Jaya Ancol Jakarta. |

There will be a new player in Islamic banking system in Indonesia, Islamic window of Bank Bukopin has acquired Bank Persyarikatan Indonesia (BPI) and was granted the license to open up full fledge Islamic bank, The new bank is called Bank Syariah Bukopin. The new Islamic Bank will have its grand opening ceremony on 9 December 2008. as explained by the president director of Bank Bukopin, Glen Glenardi in Public Expose at Bank Bukopin Building in Jakarta, yesterday (13/11). |
