LPPI Conducts Shariah Training PDF Print E-mail

Jakarta (21/11). Islamic banking system is in need of 22 thousands personnel, as explained by Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Siti Chalimah Fadjriah. Bank Indonesia will provide 50% of training cost incentive for employees of Islamic bank, through the Bank Indonesia's Directorate of shariah.
 
ImageThis is where the International Center for Development in Islamic Finance (ICDIF) came into place to play its part in conducting shariah training for both conventional and Islamic bank's employees. Specifically to the conventional bank that is planning to open up an Islamic window. The head of training program of LPPI (lembaga pengembangan perbankan Indonesia- the Institute of the development of Indonesia's banking system) Hamidah Husna Nurhidayah said that "it is expected that the quality of our banking human capital will be improved subsequent to their participation of our training program."

The training program frequency is about 2-3 times a month, with the training material of shariah financing and basic knowledge of Islamic banking. The length of training is four days. Up until today, LPPI has conducted 8 groups of training. LPPI has managed the training program in other provinces as well. The next shariah training will be held on November 25, 2008, "our target participant is 50 personnel, yet, until today there are only two banks that has signed up, Bank BTN and Bank BCA" explained Hamidah.
