Indonesia will organize Asia Sukuk Forum 2010

Jakarta, (20/9). The rapid development of global sukuk issuance triggered the risk appetite for the investors, the Islamic finance expert in Asia will conduct the Asia Sukuk Forum 2010 in Indonesia with the objective of monitoring the development of the existing sukuk issued.  This forum will be take place in Grand Melia Hotel Jakarta, which will be held in September 21 and September 22, 2010.

Based on press release by the organizing committee, this forum will analyze the opportunity to develop Asia’s sukuk market for the global sukuk development, the role of the Indonesian government in improving the Islamic market share and its effect to the Asian regions and the essential of using sukuk as the alternative instrument for corporate financing.

To discuss such issues, Islamic bankers and experts will be participated in the forum among others are:  Dr. Suharto Joyosumarto (Director of the LPPI), Rahmat Waluyanto (general Director of Debt management of the ministry of finance), Ahmad Nazir Che Yan (SVP, Head of Money Market, Islamic Treasury, Group Treasury Division
CIMB Islamic Bank), Muhammad Shodiq (Chief of Trainer of 
Bank Rakyat Indonesia Sharia),    Syed Tariq Husain (CEO Emirates Global Islamic Bank), Mudassir Amray Head of Islamic Banking - Asia Pacific
Citigroup), Susanto Djaja Finance Director Metrodata Electronics Tbk and Rizqullah
Head of Shari’ah Division Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI).

In the meantime, the Director of Bank Muamalat Indonesia, Farouk Alwyni  said that this sukuk forum is beneficial in supporting the development of Islamic finance in Indonesia, in this forum all Islamic finance experts will discuss the method in developing sukuk in Asia region.
